Search Lincoln County Inmates

Lincoln County inmate records are centered on the county jail roster, but a complete search may also require custody calls, court records, VINE, and state or federal locators. A Lincoln County jail roster search is most useful for current adult county-jail custody. Sentenced state prisoners, juvenile DOC custody, federal custody, and immigration detention use different systems, so the right lookup path depends on who holds the person and what stage the case has reached.

Lincoln County Jail Roster

The official current-inmates roster for Lincoln County is the public Zuercher/CentralSquare portal linked from the Lincoln County Jail page. It covers adult custody at the Lincoln County Jail in Merrill, including pretrial detainees, people serving county jail sentences, Huber-eligible inmates, and people awaiting transfer. The roster is free and does not require a login.

Lincoln County keeps the public roster narrow. The active portal configuration exposes a name search and an In Custody On date search. Public results show mugshot, name, and arrest date. Charges, bond, housing, race, sex, date of birth, release date, hold reasons, and held-for agency are not shown in the public columns even though some of those fields exist in the backend object. Use the jail phone, WCCA, JailATM, VINE, or a sheriff records request when the public list does not answer the question.

The roster is not the Wisconsin DOC locator. It does not cover adult prisoners who have been sentenced to DOC prison or community supervision, and it is not the right place to search for youth at Lincoln Hills School or Copper Lake School. Federal and immigration custody use separate federal systems.

Use the Lincoln County Roster

Open the Lincoln County Current Inmates roster from the county jail page or by direct URL. A search can be as simple as entering a last name, but an empty name search may return the current list for the selected custody date. The active page also has Reset for clearing filters.

  1. Open the current-inmates roster and wait for the public portal to load.
  2. Enter the person's name in the Name field, or leave it blank to review the current list.
  3. Use In Custody On when the question is whether the person was held on a selected date.
  4. Select Search, then review the mugshot, name, and arrest date columns.
  5. If charges, bond, holds, or release terms are needed, call the jail at 715-536-6275 or search WCCA.

The roster screenshot in the manifest shows the same limited public interface: a photo column, a name column, and an arrest-date column.

That limit matters because a reader may find the person but still need a second channel for court charges, bail, or release conditions.

Lincoln County Roster Fields

The public interface shows fewer filters than the vendor software can support. Lincoln County currently exposes Name and In Custody On. Other backend options are useful to understand because they explain what the system may hold internally, but they are not public search fields on the visible roster.

Lincoln County Inmate Profile

A July 3, 2026 inspection of the public load endpoint returned 132 records for the selected custody date. The public response confirmed that the visible rows were much shorter than a full jail-management record. Treat the roster as a current custody pointer, not as a full booking packet.

Roster limit: A person may be listed on the Lincoln County jail roster without public charge or bond details. The jail and court systems answer different questions.

County State Federal Inmates

The county jail roster is the first path for adult custody in the Lincoln County Jail. The Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator covers convicted adult offenders sentenced to DOC incarceration or supervision. DOC notes that people may be in city or county jails administered separately, so a missing DOC result does not mean the person is free.

Lincoln County Jail Facilities

Lincoln County has one adult county jail and two state-operated juvenile correctional facilities. Merrill Police and Tomahawk Police do not publish separate current municipal jail rosters; local arrests route into the sheriff-operated jail when adult detention is needed.

Lincoln County Booking Records

Lincoln County does not publish a full public booking workflow, but related county pages show the basic path. Adults arrested by the Sheriff's Office, Merrill Police, Tomahawk Police, Wisconsin State Patrol, or another agency may be transported to the jail for intake. After booking, the roster may show the person's mugshot, name, and arrest date. The jail phone page says inmates receive outgoing telephone access after booking is complete.

Sentence report-ins follow more detailed county rules. The Judgment of Conviction lists the report date and time, and the person must report to the Lincoln County Jail lobby on or before that time. Prescription medication must be in original containers with proper labels, and only medication approved by medical staff may be used. Jail nursing may be contacted through the jail phone during the county's listed weekday nursing window.

Huber and electronic monitoring records also require care. A judge may allow Huber or electronic monitoring, but Lincoln County research states that jail supervisory staff, the Jail Administrator, or the Sheriff still control final placement. That means a court sentence entry is not the same as a live release status. Verify the current custody arrangement with the jail before relying on a roster entry or a court note.

Contact a Lincoln County Inmate

Mail must list the inmate's first and last name and the full jail address. The sender must include a full return address. Lincoln County allows letters, money orders, and simple cards, but rejects personal checks, stickers, glitter, tape, books, magazines, Polaroids, stamps, blank paper, envelopes, food, hygiene items, clothing, and other listed items. Legal mail has separate inspection rules when it is legitimate attorney or court mail marked legal or confidential.

Inmates cannot receive incoming calls, and correctional staff will not pass messages. Securus Technologies provides outgoing inmate phone services after booking. Questions about phone accounts go to Securus at 1-800-844-6591 or securustech.net.

Lincoln County Inmate Funds

The money and bond page lists USPS money orders, the Stellar kiosk in the jail lobby, and JailATM.com as deposit or bond channels. The jail lobby kiosk can handle bond 24 hours a day. The county lists a $2 cash transaction fee and a 10% credit or debit card fee at the kiosk. If JailATM does not show bond information, the county tells users to call the jail.
